Thank you for sharing and for reading too. I also wish I had known all this earlier, especially for relationships and other choices in life. I find myself starting life over again in my forties. Finding somewhere to live, work… everything.
Luckily I was able to find a career path that was compatible with ADHD in terms of providing stimulation. That’s given me the means to support myself even after not working for over two years. For me the ADHD came as a surprise, I was convinced it was only autism and childhood trauma that had created problems in my life. The deep realisations I’ve since the ADHD diagnosis feel like the missing pieces of a puzzle. I will be writing about that soon.
